2009 Classic results
G’day All
well the 2009 Yamaha Lake Hume Classic has come and gone and perfect weather greeted the 373 entrants. All competitors were up early ready for a long day on the water and the fishing proved to be a bit slow but things did improve as the day wore on. Total fish captures for the weekend were 222 Yellowbelly which blitzed previous years, 41 redfin, 14 trout and 130 carp. Another feature on the weekend was the use of the BBQ boat thanks to Jack Hurly from Lake Hume Hire, not only was it a mobile weigh station but from 11.00 till approx 1.00 the sausages in bread were well received by the hungry competitors and will be a annual event at the classic. Talking of food my congratulations must go to the Rotary club for the sensational steaks that were served up for the evening meal, I heard many comment on how tender and tasty the rump was so well done to the cooks and the ladies who served it up, also congratulations to the members of the fishing club who spent a long hot 16 hours on the bank and the water gathering results it was their first go at doing an event this size and it went very well.
